New Braunfels Civic Center Wedding | Leslie + Ruben 

featuring Darth Vader + Storm Troopers

I met Ruben + Leslie as a referral from a mutual friend. We met a Starbucks in New Braunfels and immediately connected. They're very similar to my husband and I and would often go off topic and talk about the renaissance fair, games, and other geeky things. We hung out several times between then and the wedding, and became really close. [Click here to view their engagement photos.] After months of planning, the day had finally arrived. Leslie got ready in their new apartment, and Ruben finished getting dressed at the New Braunfels Civic Center. Apparently, the guy's dressing room was locked, and they refused to get ready in the girl's dressing room, even though the guys looks exactly the same, although smaller.   -_- 

Ruben didn't have time to be nervous until right before the first look. Leslie snuck up behind him and they had a tender moment. This was the very beginning of me choking up at least once every hour.

The New Braunfels Civic Center is huge, and the couple decided to use it as their ceremony location and transition it into the reception. The ceremony was truly touching and made us all treasure the true meaning of a union in marriage. Ruben's uncle who flew in from Spain gave a heartfelt prayer which was followed by Ruben + Leslie's first kiss as husband and wife. There was so much emotion on this day, I wish I could fit all the photos in this blog. I even heard my second shooter say, "Yazmin is in there crying her eyes out". That's okay, because no one every notices the photographer behind her camera, when the bride can't contain her tears as she embraces her mother. 

One of my many favorite parts of the day was when Darth Vader and a couple Stormtroopers crashed the wedding. They took wedding party pictures, which was only appropriate for this crew. 

Back in the summer, we went to the renaissance fair with Ruben + Leslie, where they purchased the sword they'd cut their wedding cake with. From the looks of it, Ruben was scared to have his new wife wave that sword around. You'll see what I mean when you see the cake-cutting pictures. 

When the dance floor started to open up, Leslie dedicated one last song to her husband. They danced to Ruelle's I Get to Love You. It was the perfect ending to a beautiful evening. 

Ruben + Leslie, I love you like my own brother and sister. We've had some great times together, from geeking-out to murdering some amazing ribs. I wish you and all your future little ones the best. I hope you'll allow us to be here every step of the way.
