Shortly before 2019 ended, I met up with new friends that seemed I had known forever! We bonded over military stories and true crime. What more could I ask for?

Brian + Katrina drove in from Hutto to have then engagement session done at the beautiful Laguna Gloria, and I can’t stop scrolling through how beautiful they are. You can’t deny they had fun.

How They Met:

Brian and Katrina met at the Art Institute when they were enrolled in the same business class and found themselves waiting in the hall for the door to open. He’d make snarky remarks at her, but she loved it and wanted him in her circle of friends anyway. 

Over the course of the semester, they became friends and with time, best friends. She proudly had him in the “friend zone” for 2 years while he chased her. She moved all over the country during those two years and he’d visit her wherever she went. Katrina finally moved back to Texas to volunteer for Hurricane Harvey relief with Brian. He’d drive to Houston every weekend to see her, but after a while, things seemed to die down. The visits were less frequent and her phone wouldn’t light up as often. This was the moment she realized she missed him more than she thought to admit. “So the next time he came to see me, I asked him if he wanted to be done chasing me and by my boyfriend. That was that. After more than two years of being my best friend, I let my guard down completely and he has made me happier than I ever thought possible ever since.”

How He Asked:

Brian arrived at 6 am Christmas morning after having to work throughout the night for Christmas eve. They started their gift exchange and he seemed somewhat nervous and excited. He saved a small wrapped gift for last and when Katrina unwrapped it, he took the box, opened it, got down on one knee and asked her to be his best friend, his partner, forever. “I’m so excited to marry this man, being with my best friend is the most amazing experience of my life.”

Katrina + Brian, I’m so excited for you two. I'm sorry I missed karaoke but I promise to party and sing at the top of my lungs with you on your wedding night!
